Why choose a Net Zero Home?
Net Zero Homes produce as much clean energy as they consume. They are up to 80% more energy efficient than typical new homes and use renewable energy systems to produce the remaining energy they need. Every part of the house works together to provide consistent temperatures throughout, prevent drafts, and filter indoor air to reduce dust and allergens. The result: exceptional energy performance and the ultimate in comfort – a home at the forefront of sustainability. It all adds up to a better living experience.
Where does Coastal Pacific Insulation come into this?

Coastal Pacific Insulation helps achieve the energy requirements of a NetZero build by using a combination of insulation technologies which may include but are not limited to:
- Better air seals – anywhere thermal energy may escape: foaming outlets, full caulk and seal vapor barrier, taping corners/HVAC pipes/plumbing lines, sprayfoaming troublesome spots, acoustic caulking around where poly meets outlets and light receptacles
- Higher R-Value Insulation & more of it – denser insulation in the blown attic/ceilings especially, higher R-value in the exterior walls (ie. Rockwool), thicker rigid foam insulation in the crawl
- Windows – most builds just get window foam, for long lasting seals we use backer rod with elastomeric caulking which resists cracking and mildew. It also provides your windows with an air-tight seal.
